Margherita Parigini<\/strong> obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2013 in Modern Literature at the University of Turin (Italy). After a year of Erasmus at Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot 007 (France), she moved to Geneva (Switzerland) where she obtained a Master’s degree in Litt\u00e9rature italienne moderne et contemporaine avec Sp\u00e9cialisation en M\u00e9thodes de la critique. In 2017, she started her PhD dedicated to the work of the author Italo Calvino, under the direction of Professor Francesca Serra. She is also Research and Teaching Assistant at the Italian section of the University of Geneva and collaborated on the project Atlante Calvino: literature and visualization<\/a>, supported by the SNF.<\/p>\n

The Rule and the Doubt. Studying the use of doubt in the Italo Calvino\u2019s narrative works<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The thesis \u00ab\u00a0The Rule and the Doubt\u00a0\u00bb is dedicated to the Italian author Italo Calvino, more precisely to the study of a narrative mechanism that plays a central role in his work: doubt used as the propulsion engine for writing. The aim of the thesis is to analyze this phenomenon in all its forms and to identify its various consequences in the narrative articulation of the text. The research is also supposed to develop a reflection on Calvino\u2019s critical texts, exploring the hypothesis that the dubitative text is born at the crossroads of fiction and essay.\u00a0In order to realize the research, an attempt was made to use different methods of analysis in a complementary manner: a more traditional approach derived to literary criticism, combined with a perspective linked to the DH dimension (e.g. Data Visualization).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
