Want to get involved in the Digital Humanities community in Belgium?
Join the DH Virtual Discussion Group for Early Career Researchers in Belgium!
The discussion group meets on a monthly basis via MS Teams. Each meeting features a presentation from a member of our community, a moment to share DH-related news, and a chance to network.
The Discussion Group was started in fall 2020 when physical meetings were no longer a possibility. It was a way for the Belgian DH community to come together, learn about new or on-going research, to stay in touch with our colleagues, to get inspired, and to welcome new researchers into our network.
Since its start, the Discussion Group has been an inter-institutional initiative, with organizational support from individuals at KU Leuven Libraries Artes, KU Leuven Faculty of Arts, the KBR, the University of Antwerp, and Ghent University.
Who can join?
Anyone with an interest in Digital Humanities is welcome to join the Discussion Group. Our primary target audience is Belgian-based early career researchers, including motivated BA students, MA students, PhD researchers, and postdocs, but we welcome people at all stages of their careers. We also welcome people who work in the GLAM sector.
Do I need to be a DH expert?
Absolutely not! The only pre-requisite to join us is an interest in Digital Humanities.
How can I join the group?
To join the Discussion Group, you will need to register for our mailing list. Once you have registered for the mailing list, you will receive all further communication about the initiative. You can join the mailing list at any time.
The links for the virtual meetings are sent out via email and shared in the Slack community the morning of the event. To request to join the Slack community, contact Leah Budke.
